Last Friday, Sara and I went to a fondue place called Geja's to celebrate our first anniversary. It was amazing food, romantic, and so much fun. I've had fondue before but not like this...you cook your own food at the table in a hot pot of water. We had fruit and bread with a cheese and wine combination for dipping and then scallops, lobster, steak, chicken, shrimp, and vegetables for a main course with eight (yes eight) different dipping sauces. Amazing! To top it off, we then had a selection of fruits, cake, and marshmallows with chocolate sauce for desert. Needless to say, we had a great time with all this food.
Saturday we worked out in the morning and then joined our condo neighbors for a two-days-late Cinco de Mayo party. It was a lot of fun with great food. We really enjoyed getting to know our neighbors better and ended up partying deep into the night. We even won a prize for our Tres Leches desert! We made some slight changes to our normal recipe and I think we've perfected it...I guess we can now say we have an "award winning" desert!
With all this great food Sara and I thought we should do some additional exercising and decided on a bike ride on Sunday...and now everything hurts. We ended up riding from our condo on Foster Ave all the way down Lake Shore to Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park and back. It ended up being about 20 miles total. It was such a beautiful day and a great ride but we are both really really sore still, two days later.
